People are afraid of tall buildings. Many are afraid to live in them, work in them, even just to visit in them. That was the case before 9/11. It has become much truer since. No one knows this better than skyscraper rental agents.
It is necessary to build into skyscrapers means wherewith emergency rescue personnel can reach any floor quickly under all circumstances. All new high-rises must henceforth contain such design features. Moreover, the public must be made aware of this new capacity with well publicized demonstrations.
Certainly the structures erected at the WTC site cannot be without such a capacity.
